Goose Announce Jeff Arevalo’s Permanent Departure from Band

Goose has officially announced that percussionist Jeff Arevalo is no longer part of the band. The news came via a statement on their social media, where they explained that the decision was made to uphold the values that define their community.

Arevalo initially stepped away in February, citing a need to focus on his mental health and personal matters. However, the band has now confirmed his permanent departure, stating that they became aware of behavior in his personal life that did not align with their core values.

“This is an incredibly unfortunate, unexpected situation,” the band shared. “But it is clear that this is the only way forward as we remain committed to respecting others and creating a safe environment.”

Since Arevalo’s absence, Goose has performed as a quartet, navigating a new dynamic on stage. During a recent show, they even welcomed musician Stuart Bogie on flute for a fully improvised set. Whether the band will continue as a four-piece or introduce a new member remains to be seen.

Goose will return to the stage on April 24 for a major performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Fans can expect an exciting new chapter for the band as they continue to evolve.
