Sammy Binfoh Darkwa is making a third attempt to secure the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary ticket for Adansi Asokwa as the party begins its process for selecting candidates ahead of the 2028 General Election. His latest bid comes as the NPP opens its process for prospective parliamentary candidates to declare their interest in contesting the party’s primaries. Mr Binfoh previously contested the Adansi Asokwa parliamentary primaries in 2020 and 2024, both times against the constituency’s then-incumbent Member of Parliament, Kobina Tahir Hammond. He lost the 2024 primary to Mr Hammond, who secured 311 votes against his 125.
