Cabinet opens debate on drug law

Cabinet has approved a draft bill aimed at controlling illegal drugs and regulating the supply of toxic chemicals and substances in Namibia. The combating of narcotic, psychoactive drugs and substances bill received approval in principle during Cabinet meetings held in October. The bill must first go through public consultations, where Namibians can give their views. The government will then review the bill before deciding whether to approve it.
